Thank you to Dave Kring Chevrolet and North Central Michigan College for helping us host another excellent electric vehicle (EV) training for our local fire departments.
Electric vehicles can pose a threat because they run on high-voltage lithium ion batteries, which can result in dangerously high temperatures if these cars catch fire. Since it is a relatively new technology, and standards across EV manufacturers don't really exist, firefighters need to stay up-to-date on extrication and fire suppression tactics.
