The Resort Bear Creek Fire Department would like to extend our sincere thanks to Kathy Drenth, Michigan Safety Consultant, for providing our team with comprehensive ALICE training. ALICE, which stands for Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, and Evacuate, equips first responders and community members with proactive strategies to increase survival in the event of an active attacker situation.

The training session included three hours of in-depth classroom instruction paired with hands-on practice. This combination allowed our department members to build confidence and sharpen their skills in responding to high-stress scenarios. From situational awareness to coordinated response tactics, the training offered valuable tools to help us protect both ourselves and the community we serve.

We are grateful to Kathy Drenth for sharing her expertise and for helping ensure that Resort Bear Creek Fire Department is better prepared to respond to critical incidents. Community safety is our top priority, and ongoing training like ALICE helps us stay ready for whatever challenges we may face.
